Each year, many alumni wish to reserve a room at The Alfond Inn for Alumni Weekend. In order to make the reservations process more equitable, a new system launched for Alumni Weekend 2019 enabling alumni to register their interest in reserving a room.
All alumni interested in booking a room completed the Alumni Weekend 2020 Alfond Inn Interest Form. This is the only way to register for a room at The Alfond Inn during Alumni Weekend. The form opened July 31 at 12 p.m. EST and remained open until August 1 at 12 p.m. EST.
Completion of the form does not guarantee a reservation at The Alfond Inn. All entries were time stamped. Throughout the month of August, the reservations staff from The Alfond Inn called those in order of their registration to book one room with a credit card. Registrants were given several days to respond. Within the order of registration, preference was given to registrants who are members of the Board of Trustees, members of the Alumni Board, members of the Crummer Board of Overseers, Alumni Weekend 2020 Alumni Award recipients, members of the Order of the Fox, and the 50th reunion Class of ’70.
Once all rooms were filled, the remaining alumni registrants were placed on the waiting list in the order in which registrations were received. If cancellations occur prior to Alumni Weekend, The Alfond Inn will contact the next registrant on the waiting list to book a room with a credit card.
Room reservations may not be transferred or sold. An ID matching the name on the reservation must be presented at check-in.
