Papers may be comparative across nationalities, periods and disciplines; and may deal with any issue in dramatic literature, criticism, theory, and performance, or any method of historiography, translation, or production. Papers should be 15 minutes in length, written for oral presentation, and accessible to a multi-disciplinary audience. Scholars and artists in all languages and literatures are invited to email a 250 word abstract in English to William C. Boles at <a href=\"mailto:compdrama@rollins.edu\">compdrama@rollins.edu<\/a> by 15 October 2022. Please include paper title, author\u2019s name, status (faculty, graduate student, other\/scholar-at-large), institutional affiliation, and postal address at top left. Abstracts must present a clear argument and have an appropriate scope (usually two or fewer works).&nbsp; Please send your abstract in .docx, .txt, or .rtf format.&nbsp; If possible, please avoid sending a .pdf. (PLEASE be sure to add <a href=\"mailto:compdrama@rollins.edu\">compdrama@rollins.edu<\/a> to your accepted email list so that conference emails will not be rejected by your server. Accepted presentations will be scheduled in a room with a projector, screen, and speakers. A <strong>pre-organized panel<\/strong> should include three papers. Each paper should be 15 minutes in length. Panel proposals should include (1) a copy of each panelist\u2019s 250 word abstract with paper title, author\u2019s name, institutional affiliation, status, postal address and email address at top left, and (2) a succinct, 50-word rationale for the grouping of the papers. The panel organizer should email the abstracts and rationale to&nbsp;<a href=\"mailto:compdrama@rollins.edu\">compdrama@rollins.edu<\/a> by 15 October 2023.&nbsp; Please send your abstract in .docx, .txt, or .rtf format. If possible, avoid sending a .pdf.<\/p>\n<p>A <strong>pre-organized round table<\/strong> should include at least four participants. Round table proposals should include (1) a succinct, 50 word explanation of and rationale for the round table topic, (2) a timeline of the program, including time for audience interaction and Q &amp; A, and (3) clear evidence of each participant&#8217;s expertise in the topic area. Every year, approximately 175 scholars are invited to present and discuss their work in the field of drama and 2 new plays receive a staged reading. The conference draws participants from both the Humanities and the Arts. The papers delivered range over the entire field of theatre research and production. Over the past 40 years and some, participants have come from 32 nations and all 50 states. Each year a distinguished theatre scholar or artist is invited to address the participants in the Keynote Event.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><span class=\"titlesmall\">The Philadelphia Constantinidis Essay in Critical Theory Award<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The $1000 Philadelphia Constantinidis Essay in Critical Theory Award will be given to the best comparative essay on any aspect and period of Greek drama or theatre that was published in English in any journal or anthology in any country between January 1 and December 31 in the prior year. The award was established in 2006 in memory of Philadelphia Constantinidis to encourage research and writing on Greek drama and theatre. This is an open rank competition for academics, independent scholars, and doctoral students. The award is administered by the Board of the Comparative Drama Conference. The Board solicits nominations and self-nominations for this award. The winner will be notified by the Director of the Comparative Drama Conference, and will be offered complimentary hotel accommodations and a registration fee waiver to attend the Comparative Drama Conference.<\/p>\n<p>The winner will also receive a check of one thousand dollars ($1,000) during the awards ceremony. The deadline for nominations is December 31, 2022. Nominating letters and electronic copies of the essays (converted to Adobe PDF) should be emailed to The Constantinidis Award Committee, Chair Elizabeth Scharffenberger, at <a href=\"mailto:es136@columbia.edu\">es136@columbia.edu<\/a>\u200e. Postal mail and faxes are not acceptable. The letter of nomination should include the name of the author of the published essay, the title of the essay, the year of publication, the name of the journal, the email address and postal address of the author, and a brief statement explaining why this essay was chosen for nomination. Any graduate student who presented a paper at the conference is eligible for consideration. Interested applicants should submit a full-length version (15-25 pages) of his\/her research paper to the Editor of <em>Text &amp; Presentation<\/em> by <strong>31 May 2023 <\/strong>following the conference. The winning paper will be published with special recognition in <em>Text &amp; Presentation<\/em>. The winner will also be honored at the next year&#8217;s conference, where he\/she will have the conference registration fee waived and will receive one night\u2019s free hotel room. Any graduate student who presents a paper at the conference is eligible for consideration. Each volume consists of about a dozen articles which have passed the mandated anonymous peer review. Manuscripts should be formatted according to the <em>T &amp; P<\/em> style. Those submitters whose proposed papers are accepted for presentation will be asked to prepare full papers, suitable for 15-minute readings, for delivery at the conference. Those whose papers are accepted are expected to attend the conference. Presenters are required to pre-register.<\/p>\n<p>The 2023 pre-registration fees (through February 26, 2023) are as follows:<\/p>\n<p>1.
