I can’t believe it’s already our third week in Münster!! The time is just flying by. This week was much more relaxing as I settled in to the daily routine of life here in Münster. I have learned to allow myself ten extra minutes for my walk to class in the morning. This way I’m able to stop at one of the MANY bakeries along the way for a quick coffee and delicious pastry to go. My walk to school takes a little over 20 minutes but I really enjoy the scenery. The promenade is busy with people cycling to work.
This weekend we stayed in town and I was able to enjoy three very special parts of Münster. On Saturday morning I went to the market that is held every week in the Domplatz. This market is about 20 times larger than the weekly winter park farmers market. You can buy everything from fruits, veggies, meat, fish, clothes, spices, flowers, candy, handmade soap, and much more.
On Sunday, I attended mass at the Lambertikirche (pictured in 1st blog post). Although I didn’t understand every word said durong the service, I was able to follow along with the songs and enjoy the beautiful singing and stained glass.
On Monday, I met with the girls of the group and we had a picnic dinner by the lake. The lake is known as the Aasee and you can even rent small paddleboats during the day. The Aasee is next to the Münster university so the lawn was full of college students also out enjoying the beautiful weather.
