For spring break I spent a week in Italy. Most of my time was spent in Rome with the exception of a two day adventure in Florence. Rome is an amazing city. It looks as if its been completely built around the remains of the Roman Empire. It has so much to see like the iconic Colosseum, however it did not even compare to Florence in my opinion. Rome just seemed to be massive and over touristy and while Florence was also quite touristy the small nature of it and how it was perfectly in the mountains made it such an amazing place to be. My favorite part of my trip was when my Roommate and I wondered up a path after getting some gelato. The path ended up leading us to a beautiful spot in the mountains which gave a view over the entire city. All the sights we visited the day before were now all out in front of us like a map. Florence was an amazingly beautiful city that I wish i spent more time in. I also had the best dinner I’ve had during my entire semester in Florence. An amazing Lobster and prawn platter with a white Tuscan wine to drink. If there is a heaven I think it’s in Florence.
