Now, it might seem terribly cliché, but I love the Harry Potter books and the movies, I grew up reading them and standing in line to get my copy of the new book at midnight dressed up and laughing with friends. But, I was not entirely sold on the idea of the Harry Potter Studios in London, it’s a bit pricey to get in and I wasn’t sure it was worth it. However, I was told about a groupon by my sister for a special event that was after hours and included a free book about the making of Harry Potter (normally 10 pounds), a free meal in the middle of the tour with a bottled drink and a free butter beer with the keepsake mug (normally 7 pounds) and the price was slightly less than the cost of a normal tour. On a whim, I purchased the ticket as did a few of my friends and I did not expect what came next.
Once we got to the tour, I was amazed, everything in the studios was actually from the movies. It was much cooler than I thought it would be, and I couldn’t believe how much I enjoyed it. It was one of my favorite things I’ve done in London so far and I have to say, if you like Harry Potter, this is a must see. I was astounded and the experience is one I will never forget. I took so many pictures, and spent a lot of the time reading every sign that explained the story behind a particular prop or set. By the time my group of friends had all exited the tour and met up again, I couldn’t believe how long we’d been inside, we spent nearly 5 hours on the tour. It was a magical experience and I am so glad that I was able to go. And now all of my free time will be spent re-watching the movies and exclaiming over how I’ve been to that set or walked on that bridge.
