Bonjour!= the only word I knew going into my experience of the only and only Paris, France. This week here in Spain and most of Europe I believe is Semana Santa, “Holy Week” which is the week celebrating the end of lent and ends with Easter which in Spain is called “Pascua”. For my week I set off on an adventure to the city of love with my boyfriend for the first days of break. Going into the trip I was expecting Paris to be a large commercialized city like London or Barçelona like my past trips. Paris was filled with things unlike anything I have ever experienced especially the tastes of the food. The tastes of Paris were indescribable especially at the restaurant Angelina’s, best meal I have ever had, and that’s not including the desserts. Between the macaroons, chocolate, and crepes, the streets were filled with smells and an ambiance unlike any other.
We were lucky enough to stay in an airbnb with a beautiful view of the Eiffel Tower that sparkled every night on the hour for about 5 min. The city was really just so magical and the people were very nice! A lot of people talk about how Parisians do not like Americans but all the ones we met were very friendly and helpful. We were able to see the majority of the main sites including the Arc de Triomphe, Notre Dame Cathedral, Louvre, Eiffel Tower, Seine River, The Catacombs, and the Musée d’Orsay. We also took a dinner cruise along the Seine, which we were then able to see all the sites lit up at night! Overall, it was one of my favorite trips yet especially getting to do it with someone special.
