This Easter I got to spend the holiday with my Aunt Katrin, Uncle Jackie, and my two cousins Lina and Gatlin. My uncle, who is my dad’s oldest brother, has been living in Germany for as long as I can remember. It had been a couple of years since I had last saw them. So when the opportunity to go to Germany popped up, I took it. This was my first time going over there to visit them. We had so much catching up to do, and I was eager to spend all of my time doing so. I arrived into Germany on Good Friday, a few hours before my uncle’s concert that he was performing and conducting in. You see, my uncle is a very well known classical musician in Germany. This was my first time actually seeing him in concert so it was a real treat for me. Watching Uncle Jackie perform was amazing! You could really see just how passionate he is about music just by watching him. I was in awe the whole time.
The rest of my time in Germany that weekend was spent just hanging out and catching up with my cousins. They took me around and showed me all of their favorite places to go and hang out. It was fun spending time with them and having a bit of family banter with them, just like we always have had. The weekend quickly came to an end on Easter, where we all had brunch at this beautiful resort right on the beach, a few hours before I had to fly back to London. Holy Week is my favorite week of the year, leading up to my favorite holiday. I always enjoy spending it with family, so it was nice having that chance. I know that sometime very soon I will be back in Germany and when I go it will be for a longer period of time and my parents and brother will be with me to. But until then!
Much love from London!
