Even if the Nazis couldn’t control, know, and watch over everything, they still wanted to. So, they asked the general population in Berlin and large metropolitan areas to help them out. Any suspicious activity was to be reported if seen. For the most part, this request was taken seriously. However, other Berliners took this as a chance to see revenge on someone they had been offended by, or even had possessions they coveted. Because of the mixed responses to this request from the Nazis; serious reports and those just meant to get back at someone, others made humor out of the situation. On posters resembling this:
