My semester abroad is over. I’m not in London and not in Spain or anywhere else across the Atlantic but I am back home in New Jersey. I have loved getting to see my pets again. Both of them were thrilled to see me as well as my friends who were equally as thrilled. It’s been a week now. For one, I’m no longer affected by jet lag which is nice but I am a little sad. London is a huge multi-cultural and global city with intricate and convenient public transport as well as an unlimited amount of places to explore while my small town of Belmar New Jersey, in comparison, makes me feel like I’m living on a deserted island stranded in the middle of the of the Pacific Ocean, and no not Hawaii. I definitely feel like I went from being in the center of a massive school of fish to being placed into a little fish tank in a dentist office. It’s going to take awhile to adjust and I think step one is getting out of the house. For the past week I’ve felt like I had nothing to do but luckily for me I was accepted for an internship which is starting in a week so hopefully that can help me get over the mundane that I feel has occupied most of my days since I’ve returned from London.
