I have been blessed to be able to travel nearly every weekend during the past month. First, I was off to Vienna with a travel buddy for our version of “The Amazing Race”. The next weekend, I went to visit a friend from high school who’s studying in Leipzig. A week later, a group of students and I took a day trip to Salzburg, Austria. Finally, I am making preparations to travel to Strasbourg, France this coming weekend. My travel buddy and I plan to take a bus to a city in Southwestern Germany, and then walk across the border (the Rheine River) to France! On the way there, we plan to make a stop in the beautiful city of Freiburg, Germany.
I have been enjoying the live music scene in Germany! In mid-May, there was the Streetlife Festival in Munich. During this festival, I got to see an awesome Latin/World band called Palo Santo. During the trip to Vienna there was a free, outdoor Classical concert going on. In Leipzig, I had the opportunity of seeing various bands performing in venues and in the streets alike. Here in Munich, I even got to see Switchfoot, one of my favorite bands! At the concert, I met and hung out with some fellow fans from Poland, Costa Rica, Italy, and the Netherlands. This weekend, a huge music/cultural festival is taking place in Munich. It’s called Stustaculum, and it’s organized solely by students! I have already enjoyed one great evening of music—the stages were filled with funky beats and high energy, and the crown was getting into it. Now it’s time for two more days packed with great music and company before the trip to Strasbourg!
