I participated in the internship track on verano espanol at IFEMA-Feria de Madrid, where I worked in the Convention Management department. Working in convention management required scheduling, promotion, and operations management. My tasks day-to-day required me to edit and input data into excel and powerpoint. I also had to check fair schedules and add potential clients into a database. One of the most important pieces of software I had to use was SAP which scheduled events, but it also computed prices for which venues would be used. The summer is somewhat of the offseason for IFEMA so there were only a few events going on at a time. I learned lots of valuable information related to different software and I also gained a lot of experience pertaining to event planning. I look forward to applying the experience I gained to the classroom and my future endeavors. Thanks Madrid for a great time and I cannot wait to visit again.
