This past weekend I visited Paris, France, which was one of the cities I wanted to visit most during my time in Europe since I had never been there before. Paris in a traveller’s perspective is a very romantic city and I absolutely loved everything about it, other than all the tourists and street sellers trying to make you buy mini versions of the Eiffel Tour and selfie sticks. I was lucky enough to have a friend to stay with while I was there and enjoyed my time sight seeing, drinking rosé and eating baguettes and French cheeses and meats. My favorite part of Paris is of course very cliché but the Eiffel Tower at night is just breath taking. I was overwhelmed with excitement and beauty as I stood beneath it while the whole tower began to twinkle. I don’t think I expected to be so overtaken with emotion during this moment but I think this beautiful scene made me realize how extremely fortunate I am to be going through this experience and adventure. I’ve been through a lot since I first arrived in Münster. I think I was kind of expecting to just temporarily be out of the country for five months, studying, traveling and having fun and then go back and pick up where life left off at home. But of course, this experience has changed me and allowed me to learn so much about myself, which is a bit scary but also rather refreshing. Either way, this has been an incredible experience and I really appreciate the opportunity to have gone through it. At this point, I’m just worried things will be rough coming back to school and getting back into the groove of things after this exciting, life changing experience. I don’t think it will be easy but I know I’ll find my place again. Paris was incredible this weekend and a great break from Munich but now for the last few weeks of school I’ll be buckling down to study and write essays!
