My favorite time during the program was our trip to Candelario. I had been abroad before in Oviedo, Asturias and had been missing the small town feeling. Although, Oviedo is bigger than this town, it was nice to have a weekend where the sounds of people didn’t overcloud my mind. Every person and thing in Candelario was absolutely charming. The water there is perfect and you can drink it right from the fountains. There was even a fountain of desires where if you took three sips you could make a wish. We also visited an abandoned town in Granadilla that had breathtaking views. I loved Candelario for its history and its people. Everyone we met was friendly and kind. I would love to have spent a couple of more days there.
