After four consecutive weekends of travel, I decided that I should get to know my home base city of Munich a little bit more. A very pleasant evening was spent with friends, eating dinner in the beer garden and then lounging on the side of a hill with an ice-cream cone in hand. It was good to slow down a bit and enjoy the beautiful sights and sounds of Munich. Summer has clearly arrived, as the sun-bathers all throughout the English Garden can attest to. Temperatures continue to rise, which makes me question why Germany has the reputation of being so cold. (Alright—this reputation is most likely biased because it comes from native Floridians.)
I had the privilege of performing three original songs (one in German and two in English) at an Open Stage on a Friday night. It was great to get back on the stage again after going several months without performing. Being involved in the Munich music scene has given me ideas for the future, and I have been pondering the possibility of returning to Germany one day to participate further in the world of music here. Considering the fact that public university in Germany is free, the prospect of eventually getting my Masters at a music school here is very tempting.
