I was very exited when I first found out I was going to study at Rollins College in the United States. Being born and raised in Venezuela, I never expected to have the opportunity to live outside my country away form my family and friends. In the beginning, it was very tough to be away from the people I loved the most and speaking a different language in a different country. But then, as time went by, I started meeting new people who turned out to be friends I would give everything for nowadays. I liked my international experience so much I decided to do it again, but this time even further away from what I used to call home. I never imagined I would be spending a semester abroad in Australia and honestly I couldn’t be more exited for what is about to come.
I am the kind of person who likes surprises. I never watch a trailer before going to the movies, for example. I’ve decided to do the same with this journey and I honestly do not know what to expect. I haven’t looked at any pictures of the city, the residence, nor university I’m going to attend. I like experiencing things as they come, and I can’t wait to get down from the plane on Sydney and take a look at it literally for the first time. I know the best is about to come, and I can’t wait to meet some awesome people and make this trip a story to tell!
