Since I boarded the plane in Caracas, Venezuela, I knew there was a huge adventure in front of me, specially since getting to Sydney did not take 1, but 2 days of flying around South America. So I finally get to Sydney, and the first thing that amazes me is how friendly and energetic the Australian people actually are. Even though they have a funny accent, these people will help you get anywhere at any time without even thinking of giving you a weird look. I get “home” and I meet my two hosts which happen to be very kind and friendly Auzzies. They have been living in Sydney for their entire lives, so they know the territory pretty well. It feels like if they are waiting for me to ask a geographical question so they can take out their old school maps and start drawing on them. (I have like 8 maps already with notes and everything on them.) The next day after my arrival, I visited the University and as people told me before I came, it is simply unbelievable. The architecture of every single building in the campus has its own charm. My favorite one, of course, is the Main Hall. The first time I went inside this amazing Gothic architecture I felt as if I were inside Hogwarts. The only thing I could think of was Harry Potter when I first walked inside the building. Now, writing this post, I realize that two weeks has passed since I first arrived, and my first week of class already flew. Time goes by very fast, we have to take the best out of this huge opportunity!
Cheers Mates!
