Classes have started and I am a little nervous for the weeks to come. They are completely different than what I am used to at Rollins. They are much larger and more of a lecture style. I am taking a biology class in which I feel like I may struggle with. I think the main thing I have to do to ensure my success is to stay on top of my work. I have been doing this, (currently in the library). I have met some new friends and excited to see where they take me. A friend and I went to dinner with them and had an interesting interaction to say the least. The main take away from that dinner is to be more cautious on dating aps because you never know when you will meet one, or three, in the same sitting. I am trying to meet more Australians and locals to show me the ropes in this land down under. I am not completely happy about my Homestay as I am living with a 74 year old women, an 85 year old man, and two other exchange students from China. I feel alone and find my self watching a significant amount of Netflix. Hopefully with meeting new friends I will start to spend more time out of the house. I do not think it’s fair that we cannot live in apartments as all other students, but that is just a rule that seems senseless to me.
Besides the point, I will make the best of the situation and hopefully have a more positive experience with the living situation than I am now.
