It’s so surreal to imagine that I will be in Rome within the next 48 hours! This whole summer has been leading up to my upcoming semester and now that the moment has arrived, it still has not struck me. Before entering college I always had an inclination that I would one day see myself studying abroad; my friends and I back home debated between countries, but our minds always leaned toward somewhere in Europe. Several years later, here I am now actually prepping to study abroad while my other friends never went through with it. I was struck when deciding where I wanted to enjoy my experience between Australia and Italy, but after looking further into the opportunities and courses offered in Rome, it was an easy decision; I will be able to knock out a couple of my last Gen-Ed courses left and one of the electives needed for my major while studying at the American University over in Rome. Besides the educational aspect of this trip, I cannot wait to be indulged into the various cultures of our travels; growing up with a foreign family will definitely help me to adapt quicker to another culture which I completely look forward to. As of now I am just mentally prepping myself for what is to come in the next months. I truly would like to give my gratitude to those at Rollins College and ISA who made this semester a possibility; I cannot wait to update everyone about my journey, thank you all again! Go Tars!
I love the “GO TARS!!” Meet up 9:15am tomorrow Italy time. Terminal 3?
