Summer has finally come to an end. After waiting for months for this moment to arrive, my bags are packed, I am checked in and I have my passport in hand. I am ready to start an adventure in The Eternal City!
Since I was young I have always been fascinated with the Italian culture. Thanks to Rollins I have the opportunity to study abroad in Rome for a semester and I could not imagine starting my junior year a better way.
Coliseum, Fontana di Trevi, Pantheon, wine, pizza and pasta are the first things that come to many minds when thinking about Rome. Besides looking forward to learn more of the history, art and cuisine of the city, I am also excited to experience a completely different lifestyle and to look past stereotypes.
I also anticipate cooking for myself, traveling around Europe, having roommates from different schools, walking everywhere, making friends from all over the world, challenging myself to learn a new language and being on the other side of the world from my family and friends. I am going to put myself out there to completely immerse myself in the culture and make the most out of these months.
