It’s officially the end of day of day 5 in London, and to say that the wait for this experience was worth it, is an understatement. Between moving in, traveling via tube, orientation, and site seeing, my schedule has been so full since touching down. It has been a lot to take in, but I’m loving every minute of it.
Arrival on Wednesday was eye-opening. Walking through the endless passageways of the Heathrow Airport with my friend, Marissa, to get anywhere close to the exits and having to wait for our other friend and roommate, Elis, was exhausting and. Traveling to my new flat was an experience on its own. I felt very disoriented taking in everything being on the left side and the fast paced, a bit reckless driving was spiking up my anxiety. My nerves of meeting my other roommates were not helping whatsoever. And to top everything off, my key got stuck in the door as I tried to open it for the first time. Great way to start this trip, right? Right, because by the end of the day, I didn’t even remember what had happened that morning.
Abby and Sam, the other two roommates, are complete sweethearts and these past few days have been so fun getting to know them while exploring our new home. We have toured our neighborhood, which is pretty simple, but has everything we need within walking distance; the East End, where the Tower of London and Tower Bridge are; seen Big Ben, and taken pictures with the red phone booths.
Playing tourist has been fun, but school starts tomorrow. However, I know that the rest of my time here will be well spent and I can’t wait for the many more adventures to come!
