So after a little more than a week, I am finally coming back to reality and realizing what actually happened. I think the title of the article makes itself clear and, yes, I got proposed!!!!! And here I am, sharing this news with the Rollins community, which offers me the opportunity to go study abroad in Hong Kong.
I never get tired of telling the story but I promise this is the last time I will talk about it in this month. So it was October 1st—national holiday of China. So everyone gets that day off and there would be fireworks over Victoria Harbor. My boyfriend asked me to go to Ozone—a bar in Ritz Carlton Hong Kong, to watch the fireworks on that night. The bar is located on the 118th floor right above Victoria Harbor so I thought it will be romantic and of course I agreed. The fireworks started at 9 pm and I got there around 8:30 and found out my name on the VIP list. I had couple drinks and he told me he planned a private room to us to watch fireworks. Since he actually works for the Ritz Carlton cooperation, I thought he was just using his privilege to the VIP rooms. But he took down to a hotel room on 109th floor, which faced right to Victoria Harbor. Again, I thought maybe he just had access to a room for about half an hour. So I was standing in front of the big window and enjoying the fireworks and my Cosmo, then he went into the bathroom and came back with a huge bouquet of flowers. I was so surprised and thought he was very sweet. But apparently, the story doesn’t end here. Then he kneeled down and pulled out a red box. I still remember every single word he said that night. “May I?” he asked, “we talked about it before, but would you marry me?” Instantly, I had tears in my eyes and I asked “are you serious?” I just wouldn’t believe everything happened so smoothly. We did talk about it before but nothing like serious or promising. “Yes, I know you are the one.” He was a little panic because of my tears. I looked down at his face, and I couldn’t say no so of course I said yes. Then he put the ring on my finger and it was a little big. We went back to the bar and he shared the good news with all the staffs he worked with before. So the actually told some of the staffs in the bar and the hotel and they helped him to book table and room. We met in Ritz Carlton and he did the proposal in Ritz Carlton. It just couldn’t get any more perfect.
That’s wonderful news. Congratulations and thanks for sharing 🙂
