First half of Octobre came and went pretty fast.
In one week I’ll have finished mid-terms and be outward bound for Paris and Rome and more Paris.. fall break.
I wonder what I would’ve done for fall break at Rollins, were I back home. I wonder what everyone else did. I can’t remember what I did last year. In fact, I can’t specifically recall what I did any of my previous fall breaks. Though, I think they all included peaceful repose, solidarity, room cleanings, and embrace of the calm & dampened atmosphere around campus.
I might just say I miss Rollins. Coming back for my final semester in the Spring is a sad thought. I almost feel like I’m cheating on her(Rollins) with this change of scenery..
Ireland, Berlin, and Greece are all finalized trips now. I guess that is exciting. Morroco might be my last destination to plan before I render dry the well of money. I’d really like to get to Switzerland and spend some time in a small obscure town away from tall buildings and close to treks on some tall mountains. I’d love to explore Istanbul, take a tour of Prague, and much more, but it just may not be feasible.
And moreover, as I hinted in my last post, I find myself in the middle of difficult mental trench warfare: On one side: To enrich myself with the immediate culture around me and hone my French — On the other side: To profit from this air-travel vantage point and try to conquer all the globe-trotting I can…
