I may be from Colorado but studying at Rollins sure has made me a wimp when it comes to the weather! About two weeks ago it started getting colder, and when I say colder I’m talking the lower to mid 50s. Let me just say, I haven’t missed this weather. The funny thing is though, it hasn’t really rained as much as I was mentally preparing myself for (knock on wood). But when it does, boy is it dreary.
On the plus side though, when the wind isn’t blowing, there have been some nice fall days (and plenty of fallen leaves!). We recently went on a day trip to Stratford-upon-Avon and the Kenilworth Castle and fortunately had nice weather! The nice thing about the rain is that it makes everything so green, which means prettier pictures 🙂
Also, I’m learning to feel guilt free about all the coffee and sweet drinks I’ve been consuming due to the considerably colder climate!
Here’s a photo of myself pretending to fall down a hill at the Kenilworth Castle for your comic relief! On a slightly different note, I’ve just arrived in Edinburgh for the first half of my fall break and let me just tell you, if I though London was cold, boy was I in for a surprise in Scotland! It is absolutely freezing and the wind sends very real chills down my spine. However, I rather like the city itself so far! The people are very friendly and the old town has tons of quant antique shops, nice restaurants and some great entertainment! Today I went from being pulled into a hilarious street performers show to watching a dance company perform at the main theatre.
I have 3 more days to explore, try to escape the wind by exploring a variety of coffee shops and of course indulge in buying everything I don’t need! (Because what else are vacations really for?) On a completely unrelated note, I have a serious obsession with Corgis- if I could break into the Buckingham Palace and steal the Queen’s, I would. But I suppose the cute little wine cork I bought today will have to suffice!
Cheers!
