Good day America,
Greetings from Rome!! This week is probably the most exciting and most hectic week of my study abroad experience. We have currently reached the halfway point for this semester, which means we only have one-half left to go, but it also means MIDTERMS!! ☹ This week I have three midterms, which doesn’t sound to bad, but my excitement for the rapidly approaching FALL-BREAK is clouding my judgment and making studying rather difficult. Fortunately, I live by the motto “Work Hard, Play Hard,” so I’m going to put the work in before begin my fall break endeavors. Speaking of fall break, this week, my three brothers and I will be traveling to Ibiza, Barcelona, and Paris. We will be gone for a total of 11 days and plan to make the most of this experience. In Ibiza we plan to soak up the sun and bask in the warm weather, in Barcelona we plan to enjoy the nightlife and learn about its rich history, and finally in Paris we plan to obviously visit the Eiffel tower, explore the Catacombs, and enjoy some quality French food. For the most part I am extremely excited to begin this journey, however I am a little nervous because of the language barrier. I am confident though that we will be able to effectively communicate in both French and Spanish. In today’s age of Google translate and charades, language barriers are being broken down all over the globe haha ☺. This study abroad experience has grown into something much greater than I could have imagined. This may sound a little extreme, but this semester abroad has been invaluable to furthering my understanding of the world, and I cannot what for what is in store for the second half. Stay tuned.
Go TARS!!
