With the academic semester now in full swing a lot more focus is being put on studying rather than travel and other leisurely activities. In class I am currently studying poetry, the relationship between Spain and the Americas, business in Spain and also Spanish architecture. With me being an international business major, naturally business is my favorite class. However, art/architecture is a close second. The architecture in Spain is so interesting to me because not only does each building tell a different story, but these days I also have a better understanding and appreciation of what I am seeing on program related excursions to nearby historical sites.
Although the university has demanded more of our time recently we still do find time for extracurricular activities. A favorite of ours is soccer. Not only is it a great source exercise, but with soccer having such a great presence in Europe we feel that it adds on our abroad experience. As of now we have only played two on two but we hope to grow our ranks as the semester progresses. After playing in the park we often stop by a local bar on the way home to watch whatever games may be airing and to grab drinks and tapas.
The only other thing that comes to mind at the moment is Halloween. I am interested to see how the holiday is celebrated here versus in the States.
Happy Holidays!
