Last weekend I visited the Tate Modern. My appreciation for art has definitely grown over the last several years. The Tate Modern holds modern and contemporary artwork from all over the world. My favorite exhibition was “The World goes Pop”. The vibrant colors really stood out and the gallery was able to show how artists from all over the world were able to respond to the Pop movement. Each region had its own unique interpretation of the movement. At the same time, all of the different ideas and interpretations are connected.
The Tate modern is Located on London’s Bankside. The Bankside is pretty cool on its own. It is located along the Thames river and has a lot of restaurants, cafes, and shops. It is very clean and the atmosphere is nice. Many artists come to this area to show off their works in the many small exhibits in the area. One of my favorite places that I visited while on the Bankside was Shakespeare’s Globe. While I did not catch a play, I was able to see the inside of the globe. It was cool to see how one of the most popular entertainment venues of the 17th century looked like.
