Last week was reading week, and I went to Barcelona and Rome. Some of the places I visited in Barcelona were La Sagrada Famalia, the Cathedral, Park Guell, and Casa Milia. The architecture in Barcelona was amazing to see. It was incredible to see the amount of detail that goes into the buildings. I did not know a lot about what we were going to see in Barcelona, so when we went to La Sagrada Famalia I was shocked to see that it was still under construction. It is not supposed to be done until 2020, but I hope I can come back then and see the complete finished product. The outside of the building was extremely intricate, so I understand why it is still a work in progress. However, inside the building was one of the prettiest things I have seen. The stained glass and detailed walls, made for an amazing experience. The only problem we had in Barcelona was dealing with all the crowds. Overall, Barcelona has been my favorite place to visit.
From Barcelona, we went to Rome. In Rome we went to the main tourist spots, like the Colosseum, Sistine Chapel, the Trevi Fountain, and we ate dinner in front of the Pantheon. Rome was interesting to experience, and I really liked visiting the historic sights, but it was a little more difficult to get around. I did really enjoy learning about the history of all these places, and it was a great week.
