November flew by so quickly – almost quicker than my flight to Paris. One of the high lights of this month was getting to celebrate Thanksgiving here in Paris even though it’s not a French holiday. Originally my brother was going to come visit me in Paris for Thanksgiving but due to the attacks our parents decided to cancel the trip. My program here however planned an amazing thanksgiving dinner! That was super special, and some of the kids cooks which was also really nice.
I’m happy to share that my French has improved so so much. I am now reading in French without even realizing I’m reading in a different language. Talking in French still proves somewhat of a challenge, but I think that’s just because I get too lazy sometimes to think in another language.
Though my classes have been interesting, my internship here in Paris continues to make this experience truly unique. The Community Manager at my internship left the company and my boss had to take on her responsibilities. This added a ton of extra work to our daily schedule, but it’s afforded me a super rare and advantageous opportunity to speak into and learn about what it is a Community Manager does and how that role can impact a company and brand.
Now that it’s the end of November I’m starting to pack my things. Even though I may be packing I”m still trying to squeeze in one more day trip. I can’t believe it but I have still yet to see Versailles. I’m probably going to go next week!
