While I’ve spent thanksgiving abroad before I would have to say this year was my most unusual experience in celebrating a holiday far from home. It’s not that I didn’t eat enough, because believe me I did, however, it was quite a different selection than the usual festive menu of turkey, cranberries, stuffing and pie.
During my time abroad, I have been interning at a magazine called Business Traveller, and it has actually been one of the highlights from my time in London (yes, even though it is work).
Last week, on Thanksgiving, I went to the airport to sample British Airways’ new economy class menu that is available for an additional price. Many airlines and hotels invite us to events such as these so that we can then write an article about whatever product or feature they’re promoting, in this case, it was loads and loads of food.
The airline now has 6 different meals available for pre-paid purchase and I got to sample literally every. single. item.
Now you might be thinking, airplane food? Yuck. But surprisingly, most of it was actually delicious and I was more stuffed than I was last Thanksgiving as I left the catering house that day.
Please feel free to laugh at my expression and how much food (this is just the dessert selection!!!) that I consumed on my very nontraditional thanksgiving!
Here are a few more photos of my favorite dishes! See, they don’t really look like nasty airline plates now do they?
However, I will be exciting to enjoy a traditional Christmas meal when I return in 12 short days! (How is that even possible?!)
cheers!
