It doesn’t feel at all like I have been in London for almost three and a half months. My time here has been a whirlwind that has gone all too quickly.
I’ve come to love so many little things about London and the people in it. One of those things is the tube, as I know I’ve said before, but I’m truly going to miss the accessibility and ease it offers. Another thing I’m going to miss is the surprisingly mild winter. I know everyone complains about the gray and the rain but it’s really not all that bad. In fact, today, December 7th is still 55 degrees and it’s only 9:30 am! I’ll soon be going back to many feet of snow and I’m quite positive the chill will be greater than I’ve felt here.
Living in this gigantic city has give me the option to do and see so much, and among many of the brilliant and historical sites are the many outdoor markets, theatre district and parks. I’ve indulged in far too many sweet treats (and gluten) and have even grown fond of my tiny little flat. Perhaps what I’ll miss the most are my amazing, loving and adventurous roommates. We’ve done and seen so much together I absolutely hate thinking about saying goodbye.
This weekend I went to my last outdoor market in Camden, waved goodbye to Big Ben and unfortunately studied for finals.
(Don’t worry, these wonderful donuts saved me from finals depression).
I don’t know what I’m going to do come Saturday when the reality of my flight taking off will most certainly bring me to tears. I count my blessings every day for getting to have the amazing experience, I wouldn’t give it up for anything in the world.
Traveling and living abroad has taught me many things, among the most important is that a piece of my heart will remain in all the beautiful places I’ve come to love. I will never forget you, London. You will forever be another home away from home.
Cute pics–glad the donuts relieved your finals stress!
