And just like that my time in London has come to an end. The past couple of weeks were spent finishing up classes and work, packing, and truly making the most of every final moment in the City. Some of the recent highlights include the Spitalfields Market, Camden Market, ice skating at Hyde Park, and Tower Bridge. It is amazing how much I did over the semester and how interesting it is to continuously learn and find cool places all around London.
I hit everything on my Bucket List except for seeing Wicked, but I can always see it in New York City. I really made an effort to go to as many different places as I could. Some of the markets I wanted to go back to, and there’s always that one restaurant or little cafe that needs to be revisited. And of course time with friends made over the semester begins to wind down, but there was a last gathering.
I will miss my friends, my coworkers, the markets, the tube, the sights and sounds of this fabulous city. It’s hard to believe just a few days ago I was still there. Time goes so fast but I learned to make the most of it, not plan so much, and enjoy the little things.
It was bittersweet to leave London. I made a life for myself there and it is difficult to say goodbye, to pack up everything and leave. But I have adapted to so many situations, cultures, and places, that I leave feeling more confident and comfortable in my own skin. There is a lot to look forward to next semester. But in the meantime, I certainly will enjoy time with family, friends, and loved ones over the holiday season. Time and life go on, both at home when we were in London, and in London and every other part of the world we visited when we are now home.
