As of today, its been a little over a week that I’ve been back in the states after my study abroad experience in Japan. It’s been quite hard adjusting back to American life for me, and the jet lag was definitely my least-wanted Christmas gift this year. Even though I saw them less than a month ago, I already miss my friends back in Japan, and the others like me who went home at the semester’s end, so much; and daily life without them is something that will take me time to get used to. Although I know this is my last semester at Rollins and I have to dedicate time to graduation and grad school (hopefully) prep, I do hope that I can find some time to continue my study of the Japanese language, as I wish to continue communicating using Japanese with the friends I made in Japan. Looking back at these past four months now, I am so grateful for the chance that I had to get to know the country of Japan so well, and how being a Rollins student made this possible for me. Without Rollins and the study abroad program they have available, I may never have had this experience, so I am furthermore proud to be a Tar after my time studying abroad. I do hope that someday in the future I’m able to go back to Japan to visit my friends and to re-visit some of the beautiful places and things I got to see during my time there, but I know that the memories I made in the last couple of months will last me a lifetime! As for anyone reading this who is considering studying abroad in Japan, I would highly recommend it! Despite the distance from home and the language barrier, it is truly an amazing experience that allows you to make lifelong friends while studying and exploring in such a beautiful country. All the best to my fellow Tars in 2016!
