I leave for France soon. I’ll be studying in Aix-en-Provence, located in the south of France. To be honest, I don’t even know how to pronounce the name. The closer I get to the departure date, the more real it seems. I’m starting to see pictures of the house I’ll be staying at, and meeting the girls I’ll be living with. I sent an email to my host mom, but I guess she only speaks French (which really stressed me out). I really want to learn French, but I love to talk, and have never been in a situation where I couldn’t communicate the way I wanted. I understand French, but from one second to another, I’m not able to understand. I think that will be my biggest struggle. I’m really excited to enjoy all the food and explore all the surrounding areas, but some more normal goals that I have are like maybe becoming more active by taking walks or joining a gym and doing well in my classes. The classes I’ve selected are very interesting, mostly relating to my major: Political Science. Here, I’ll be taking classes that relate to European politics, which I would not be otherwise learning about.
