I have always walked past Hirakatashi station, one too many times, however is was not until tonight that I noticed that there is so much life here.
I met a special friend of mine at the station. She just came back from her job hunting meetings. I on the other hand needed se time off from a busy day so we decided to stay at the station and grab some beers.
Under the station platform lies a place e where people could sit and enjoy the life that is happening there.
On the front of us were a group of people playing live Japanese music. Although I am not good at Japanese music, the way they played was really soothing and we listened as they sang and sang along sometimes. On the side of us were a group of guys dancing hip-hop and to be honest, they were at a whole different level. A few meters from us were two guys on their bikes riding their bikes like I could never possibly could defying gravity as well. Along side were a couple of guys on their skateboards and yes, they were defying gravity equally as masterful. The dancers, the bikers and the skaters pulled out stunts and defied gravity reminding me of that nothing is impossible. I could see the years and years of effort at play and spectators around me enjoying, appreciating what they saw.
On that day, I saw Hirakatashi station from a whole different perspective, full of life and joy, and I appreciated being there with someone special to share the moment with.
