After 4 amazing months in this beautiful country, I’m down to my last week abroad. Sadly, I will not be spending my last week here in Ireland, but in Madrid and Paris. Either way it’ll be the last 7 days that I spend on this side of the world for a while but I can leave happy because I’ve had the time of my life (and i never felt like this before🎶).
Sadly I missed my flight for Madrid due to my alarm not going off but I managed to get on another flight later in the day and made it to Madrid just in time to see the Champions League final. My favorite team, Real Madrid, won and it couldn’t of been a better way to end a long day. Regardless of missing my flight I had a great time in Madrid. I made a lot of friends and celebrated the victory of my team and got to explore a beautiful city. I didn’t really have anything planned to do aside from watching the game in the city square and meeting up with a friend from home, so the next couple of days I just walked around the city. I went to the Santiago Bernabeu stadium and got to take a picture with the Champions League cup that Real Madrid had just won as it was on display for the fans to see the “Undécima” which means the 11th, as it is the 11th time they have won the Champions League. I met up with my friend and it was so nice to speak to people from back home after such a long time of being here. We (her roommates and I) made dinner and then just hung out in their apartment catching up and talking about the game. Now I am back in Ireland but only for a couple of hours until heading to Paris for two days.
I can’t believe that my time abroad is coming to an end and that I will be returning home in 3 days. There aren’t enough words to describe how much I loved and enjoyed being here and how much I’m going to miss living here. Hopefully sometime in the future I will be able to come back to Ireland as I’m leaving a little piece of my heart on this magnificent island. Our little group of friends here have already decided that we will try to get internships around here next summer so that we can all come back and continue our great adventure here.
