4 DAYS!
That is how long it will be before I am in Fiji, and then after that – New Zealand. It is surreal that after a semester of preparing for this journey, it is finally here. You can say that I am a little nervous, though excited, to embark. Although I have always loved traveling, I have never been able to explore this part of the world. Since I’ve been old enough to remember – New Zealand has always been on my bucket list, the environmental wonders and pure beauty that this country possesses appeals to the environmental activist inside of me. From mountains, to extreme sports, one thing is for certain, these next 4 and a half months will be far from typical. I don’t think it’s quite hit me all of the things I am going to experience, but it’s apparently been on the minds of those that I hold dearest – my family, friends, and loved ones all have mixed emotions about my departure. This somewhat denial of where I will be come a few short days has rendered my suitcases empty and many errands still left to run. Cheers (as the Kiwis say) to a new culture, a beautiful country, and new friendships – I cannot wait to see what other unexpected opportunities I encounter across the way.
University of Otago, here I come!
