This week we were supposed to write about what we noticed in Europe regarding the eurocup. I knew it was going on and on what day germany was playing because of the german flags and shirts all around me.
When I was in Berlin yesterday I noticed that they had fenced off a huge portion of the Tiergarten and fenced around the Brandenburger Tor. At first I thought that there must be a festival later in the day and was slighty annoyed that the fencing was in my pictures.
Later when I was walking back along the fencing I found out that the huge area that I thought was fenced off for a festival was actually a public viewing place for the Germany against Slovakia football game.
On my way back to the train station I suddenly heard a load roaring echoing all around me. Germany had just scored its first goal. And that is how you knew that the eurocup was going on.
Die Fanmeile! What a venue between the Brandenburg Gate and the Victory Column.
