When I first arrived in Madrid, I had no idea what to expect; however, I definitely learned a lot and had a great experience. One thing I learned very quickly was how to use public transportation. I had taken the bus and metro before but never alone so I was fairly nervous at first. That changed; however, when I had to take the metro for 35 minutes every morning to IFEMA for the internship and the bus for 20 minutes when I had class. The best thing about Spain was definitely the food. I tried so many new dishes and enjoyed every one of them!
Throughout our time in Spain, we participated in many different cultural activities. The picture below was taken at Palacio Real de Madrid, or there Royal Palace of Madrid. The Spanish Royal Family does not actually live there; however, now it is only toured by visitors and used for ceremonies. This is one of my favorite places in Madrid because it has a beautiful garden, great views, and the palace has more than 3,000 rooms. Madrid has so many historical landmarks which is why my six weeks were definitely fantastic!
