I am the absolute worst at packing. I tend to think I need everything. I spent my summer in Wichita, Kansas interning. I learned that I can be over a thousand miles away from my family and everything is okay. Being from a family of seven siblings, we are usually spread around the place, so communicating over text or facetime is considered usual. During the ten weeks in Kansas, I only used so much of what I packed. I learned that if I haven’t worn that shirt or pants in the last six months I probably won’t wear them in the next six months. This has helped me prepare for packing and leaving family for the semester.
I have never been out of the country, but I am excited to have this experience with my twin. People always talk about how we do everything together, so why not explore another country together. Having her with me, will make the adjustment easier. We have been in touch with our host mom, and she is just as excited as we are in Spain. On Thursday, we spend the day traveling, and have a full day to explore in Madrid with some of the other students in the Oviedo program! I am excited to spend the semester abroad!
