Hello again and welcome to the continuation of my story in Shanghai. Over the last two weeks quite a lot of things occurred. 2 weeks ago we, the members of the Alliance program, officially started our semester in SUFE. We have classes 4 days per week, on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. Such a system exists because some of the students have internship programs and Wednesdays they spend working in their facilities. The rest of us have a free day. On each day we have a Chinese language class from 8:30 to 10:40. Later from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm we have specific courses that were chosen by us. The first week went by smoothly without any problems. On the second week we, the Rollins students went on a 3day field trip to Xian. There we saw the world famous Terra-cotta Warriors, and learned more about the ancient past of China. We also rode bikes on top of a wall in Xian, saw the stone tablets which contain the history of Chinese calligraphy, visited both Small and Big Goose Pagoda, and we visited the Muslim market. During our trip we saw various ancient Chinese artifacts, and landmarks which prove that the culture and the past of this country is truly wast and that there is still much to be discovered. On this note I’ll conclude this entry.
To be continued next time . . .
