Our intensive language course ended on Saturday, and we had a few days in between free of any responsibility. So naturally a couple of friends and I planned a trip to Europa Park (a giant theme park in Germany) and then a little day trip to Strasbourg, France. The theme park was really fun and had tons of roller coasters. On Tuesday, we hopped on a bus and traveled to France. I don’t think I’ll ever get used to traveling only a few hours and being in another country. Back home you drive a couple of hours, and you’re still in the Sunshine State. I love being able to travel to nearby countries with such ease here. I’m trying to do as much as I can before the semester starts on Monday because I know my time will be limited and mostly dedicated to studying.
I’m still trying to get used to the school system here. Classes begin in 5 days, and we still don’t have our class schedules yet. It’s making me a little uneasy because I’m used to planning out these things way in advance at Rollins. I know the classes I have to take here but they pick the meeting days/times for us, and I don’t think we can change it. In a way, it’s good because it takes some of the stress of planning away from me, but I enjoy planning, so it’s still weird to me not knowing or having control over it. I’m excited and anxious for classes to start, though. Not entirely sure what to expect but hopefully it all goes well.
