Hello everybody, I’m back! I hope you’re ready to read a long post cuz I have so much to share with you. Last week was a pretty busy week and I got to do all kinds of stuff with both CAPA and D&D (my internship site)!!!
Let me just tell you, if you ever go abroad with CAPA or if you come to London just to visit, you MUST go to Stonehenge! You probably have heard of it and I’m sure you have seen it in many many movies, but you don’t know what you’re missing if you haven’t seen it in person! Stonehenge is one of the most mysterious places on earth because nobody actually knows what the place was built for, nor how they built it! As a matter of fact, some people even say that it was never finished and what we see is just the base structure for something even bigger! There are many many stories surrounding the creation of Stonehenge, some people even say that aliens are responsible, others argue that the ancient Gods are the ones who built the monument… It is just a huge mystery!! Sadly, they won’t allow you to get close enough to touch the stones!!! That was kinda disappointing but it still was really cool!
Also! That same day, we went to the roman city of Bath!!! I know, you have no idea what that is and if you are one of the few people who actually knows what it is, let me congratulate you because you’re THAT 1%! Anyway, CAPA plans these really awesome day trips to places and they took us to both Stonehenge and Bath! (disclaimer: they tell you it is free, but the truth is that you already pay for it so you really should go).
So back to Bath… It is a really nice, cute, small, cozy city with roman heritage! I loved it and I really wish I could live there for a month because it is such a calmed and inspirational city! For those who don’t know, aka literally everybody, Bath is famous for the roman baths (giant pools filled with hot spring water) that the important roman people used for its mysterious healing powers. The city also has one of the most beautiful classic architecture I have personally ever seen and on top of that, it has AMAZING stores and nice restaurants! If you ever get the chance, you should go visit it… (FYI: is a three hour ride so you can imagine it took a fairly long time to get there).
On a different note… I started touring the D&D restaurants! So… to explain a little bit more, the company I work for asks me to help clients decide what venues may be better for the specific requirements of their events and, of course, the only way to do that is by getting to see each restaurant and getting the feelings of each and every single one of them. Because of this, the head office sent me on this restaurant hopping mission…
D&D has THE MOST AMAZING RESTAURANTS I have ever seen! They are all so nice and fancy with amazing views of the city! Here are some pictures of the ones I have visited so far…
This one is Skylon! It’s inside of the Royal Festival Hall (a multipurpose stadium/theater/event venue) and It has an amazing view of the Thames River.
This is the South Place Hotel (obviously)… And it is located in a very busy businessy zone in London and it has an amazing restaurant and very nice rooms inside like the one in the picture.
This one is Coq d’Argent.. and yes, IT HAS A TERRACE AND ITS ON A ROOFTOP! This one doesn’t need an explanation, it is just amazing.
My personal favorite, Madison! It has the most beautiful skyline view of London, it is on the rooftop of a six floor building which is amazing (I think I use this word too much but who cares). And it also has live music and a really cool bar and some terraces.. Again, MY FAVORITE.
This one is Quaglino’s and it is the busiest of the restaurants, it is also huge and really luxurious!!! I am currently working in this restaurant, dealing with enquiries and operations.
This one is Bluebird and it just reselty reopened after two months of going through a makeover! We had an event just yesterday and we got to invite clients from different companies and private clients to an open house! I got to interact with a lot of clients and basically understand the PR side of D&D… I also had some wine which is quite commno here in the UK in a business setting!!!! (that is a useful peace of information)
I highly recommend to visit them, they are BEAUTIFUL and the experiences will last you a lifetime!
So… this was my week, I hope you guys enjoyed the LONG post (again, sorry about that)… Until next week!!! Byeeeeeeee
