These past couple weeks have been a bit uneventful but I really felt like I just need some down time without having to worry about planning trips and just focus on school for a bit. This past week was the last week of lectures which is so hard to believe. I can’t believe that 4 months have gone by so quickly.
This past Thursday, a friend who also goes to Rollins but studying abroad in Australia, came to visit us over here in New Zealand. That night, another international student studying abroad had an awesome idea of booking a local bar for a sort of private event. It was a great night of fun and dancing and meeting people, and a great way to celebrate the end of lectures. Yesterday morning, me and another one of my friends here who goes to Rollins took our friend visiting from Australia to see Tunnel Beach. It’s still one of my favorite spots here in Dunedin and the weather couldn’t have been better, not a cloud in the sky. That night, our study abroad program hosted a dinner at a Mexican restaurant called Del Sol. The food was delicious and I couldn’t resist buying a frozen margarita, plus free food is always a plus. We obviously ended the dinner with some churros and caramel sauce. We then headed down the road to go watch a late night improv show. We all sat front row and the show was hilarious. Definitely made me want to check out the improv shows we have back home at Rollins.
The next couple of weeks are probably going to spent studying in the library since I have to exams in two weeks on the same day. It’s really starting to hit me that my time here in New Zealand is coming to an end and it’s really sad. I’ll definitely try to soak up as much of this experience as I can in the time I have left here.
