Hellooooooo!!!
So yeah, I didn’t sleep last night… well, actually I did sleep a little, but let me explain.
So I got transferred to a new restaurant as I told you last week… The Royal Exchange remember? Well, they decided that I was not only going to work for them but I was also going to do some work for the central office and another restaurant called Bluebird… You might think it is not cool to have that much work but it actually is very interesting and I have gotten to do lots of events and I have learned about the industry a lot. So…. On Tuesday I went to a sales event at a restaurant called Avenue and I stayed there for hours talking with clients and shadowing my supervisor to learn more. It was actually super fun and interesting…. I also got free food and drinks (because drinking with clients it’s a must in London).

On Wednesday night, I went to watch Wicked!!! Remember the free tickets CAPA gives students for cultural experiences? Well, I got tickets for Wicked! It is one of the funniest productions I have ever seen. I am not a really big fan of theater but this play is actually one of my favorites, I enjoyed it a lot.
On Thursday night, The Royal Exchange had an exclusive hire for 400 people! I volunteered to stay and help out with the preparations because I really wanted to see the transformation of the restaurant… they literally changed the entire layout from a formal restaurant to a standing convention in less than 15 minutes! It was so quick! And later that night, after I printed a bunch of signs, moved tons of tables and transported speakers, I helped the cloakroom team organize everything. … It was really fun! I’m also pretty sure I burned some calories because I went up and down the stairs so many times… (Thank god I didn’t have to stay until the very end because the most tedious part is setting up back to the restaurant format).

On Friday night, my supervisor organized a dinner for me and some of my Rollins friends at a restaurant called Cantina del Ponte, which has the most amazing view of the Tower Bridge (the famous bridge in London)… One of the coolest things about my internship is that I get 40% off the bill in every restaurant, so dinner was not as expensive! After that, we decided to go to a club called Tiger-Tiger in Picadilly (where all the cool screens you see in movies are)… That club was so much fun, if you are looking for a place to dance and have some drinks with friends, this place is definitely a great choice!

On Saturday, CAPA took us to Oxford! A day-long trip to the number one university in the world! A tour guide helped us make our way around the city and we got to see all the important colleges and.. most importantly… we got to see the sets that inspired the Harry Potter movie!!

On Sunday, I finally got to rest (and do homework, kind of)… However, my adventurous week made me get a cold, which I am trying to get rid of before the Chainsmokers Concert tomorrow! That’s right, we are rallying!
Well, that was a summary of my week.. I am sure I’ll have a lot more stories to share with you next week!
