Hi everyone!!!!
Before you ask… Yes, I did get rid of the cold and no, I did not skip work after the concert.
As you know, I went to the chainsmokers concert! For those of you who are currently wondering who the chainsmokers are, I will clarify… They are the ones who wrote the most annoying song ever called “Selfie” and they are the ones who also wrote the whitest song ever “Closer”. In other words, they are two amazing DJs who travel the world to share their music.
This concert was held in Brixton which is a really really fun part of London. Capa actually has a lot of walking tours planned at Brixton and it is a very artistic zone with a lot of musical venues, nice clubs, lots of concerts, good food, some parks, etc… If you ever want to have fun during the evening or just go have dinner and hear some good music, Brixton is the place.
The club where chainsmokers performed at was called Electric Brixton (this is the link for the webpage and a picture of the venue http://electricbrixton.uk.com/)
This concert was definitely the highlight of the week, but on the weekend, I went to the most amazing place on earth… No, I did not go to Disney, I went to the Warner Brothers Studios where they filmed all 8 Harry Potter movies, which is ten times better than Disney (sorry, not sorry).
Anyway, after a really long tube ride and then a train ride and then a taxi ride, we finally got to the studios and we got to see all the sets, the original costumes and props that they used in the making of Harry Potter. This is literally my favorite series of books and movies and, as you can imagine, it was a dream come true. It is such a different experience from what we have back in Orlando, in the London Studios you actually feel like you are in the movie, whereas in Orlando you are in the theme park.
Here are some pictures for your perusal!
Oh! Also, on Sunday, I went to a Jack the Ripper Tour with some people from my building… Capa had put it together for us and it was free (well we technically paid for it but they dont tell us).
The tour guide took us around the city through the most sketchy hallways and streets where the real Jack the Ripper walked and murdered all those women. It was such a fun and exciting evening! If you ever plan to come to London with Capa, try to go to as many tours as you can with them because they are really fun, they are included in your tuition fee and they are a great way to bond with all the people that travel with Capa from different schools in the US.
Next week, I will be going to Amsterdam for the first time, during my break week! We’ll see how that goes. Wish me luck with my midterms! Byeeeeee…
