These past two weeks have been the slowest in London for me. This semester, I have to write eight essays that determine my grades: about 20,000 words in total! I have managed to complete 3 and I am almost done researching for my fourth. I have to put in the work now so I can enjoy November when I am doing most of my traveling.
Although I concentrated mostly on academics these past two weeks, I did have the opportunity to go to Paris! I went with a tour company called UK Study Tours. As mentioned in my previous blog, I only paid $215 for my transportation, hotel, and my tour guide. The value of the tour far exceeds the price! We traveled to Paris overnight on Friday and arrived at the Eiffel Tower in the morning. During my first day in Paris, I went up the Eiffel Tower, went on a river cruise on the Seine River, saw the French replica of the Statue of Liberty’s flame, was moved by the site of Princess Diana’s fatal car crash, visited the Notre Dame, walked down the Champs Elysees, captured a lot of picture at the Arc de Triomphe, checked out the Louvre, took in the Plaza de la Concorde, and much more! We packed in a lot of stuff on our first day in Paris, but I do wish I got to see Napoleon’s tomb and the Mona Lisa. The next day, we went to the Palace of Versailles and the Versailles Gardens. I was most excited for this part of the trip and was not let down. The Palace of Versailles is full of so much history and the gardens are absolutely beautiful. We only got to spend roughly 6 hours there, but I could have spent two days. On a side note, show your student visa at admission and you’ll get in for free! Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed this tour and would recommend it to anyone who wants to go with a cheap tour to Paris.
