Fall break was amazing! My mom came down to visit and we travelled throughout France and Italy. Florence was absolutely stunning- the duomo was my second favorite monument/building in Italy (the first being the Trevi fountain). It had so much detail and colors and stood so tall you feel like an ant when you stand next to it. We also went to Monte Carlo in Monaco which was a dream. I felt like a real princess. We were lucky enough to see the main casino which was basically a gold ballroom with high ceilings that was covered in amazing artwork. It was also a nice pause to have my mom here because I was really starting to miss her- being with friends in a foreign country is great but not without it’s struggles! Since, I’ve been back in Rome I have a newfound appreciation for my friends, this city and how cheap it is compared to other countries in Europe. My friend came down last weekend too and showing her around Rome has reminded me how easy it is to see the beauty in Rome and it’s free! Unlike in other countries, getting off at the wrong stop in Rome can be a fun experience since almost every place has it’s hidden beauty. She also showed me the best gelato place I’ve ever tasted!
