A month from today I go back home and get to cuddle my pup and finally speak with good friends and family in person. The countdown on my phone keeps me going honestly. My body is ready for two weeks of non-stop eating because I miss Hispanic and vegan food so much. I also miss wearing flip flops all the time, so I am definitely going to take advantage of Florida’s lack of winter.
Aside from thinking about going home and the holiday’s two big things are currently taking up most of my thoughts. Hausarbeit and internships. The Hausarbeit is a 12-page research paper (all in German sadly) due next week, and my procrastination levels could not be higher. I blame German Netflix for finally releasing the show Friends. I know I’ll be able to pull it off, though, I hope. The other thing is my internship search. So far I’ve already been rejected by two companies and haven’t heard back from the others. In hindsight, I probably should have applied to more, but at this point, I’ve stopped caring about it. Things have a way of working out, and if this gets me permanently home earlier than anticipated, I won’t even be a little upset.
On a much brighter note, my friends and I will be attending ChocoART next week as a way to destress after turning in our research papers. ChocoART is a large outdoor market just for all things chocolate. A.k.a what our dreams are made of and possibly the cause of our future diabetes. No regrets.
