After a month-long crash course of learning Spanish basics at CBCE, we finally transferred to the University of Oviedo. The transition to the university was a bit stressful because we had to choose classes and which level we want to be in, but after the first week things moved smoothly.
Aside from starting classes at the University, we visited multiple sites within the Asturias principality with our awesome supervisor, Ana. For the first excursion of October we went to visit Los Picos de Europa and Covadonga. Los Picos de Europa is a mountain range in Asturias and has lakes throughout the mountain range. The views from the mountains were incredible. After visiting the mountain range, we went to Covadonga which is one of the most significant villages in all of Asturias because it was the first victory that the Iberian Christians had over the invading Muslims in the 8th century.
The following day we went to Cabo de Peñas and Cudillero. Cabo de Peñas is the northernmost part of Spain, which also had an amazing view of the Bay of Biscay. After visiting Cabo de Peñas, we went to Cudillero, a very small fishing village, but with a very lively atmosphere.
