Hi everyone!
Last week was my first time experiencing Thanksgiving without my family, and let me tell you it was very different. My roommates and friends from other rooms in our flat complex (apartment complex) all decided that we should have a “friends-giving” since most of our parents were unable to come visit us during this holiday. We decided to have it on the Sunday following Thanksgiving, everyone would bring different foods, drinks, etc! On the night of thanksgiving I was lucky enough to be able to spend it with my friend from home. We went to the Shard for dinner. The Shard is the tallest building in the UK and European Union, with the walls being all glass s you can view the city, and we ate our Thanksgiving dinner on the 32nd floor. It was absolutely amazing. The view was something that I had never seen before. We could see for miles, and since it was at night all of the lights were on as well as fireworks across the ways. It was a memory that will last forever. As the week continued on it was finally time for Friends-giving. What would “Friends-giving” be without a little stress? The morning of everyone decided that it would all be to complicated since we only have 2 tiny kitchens to cook everyones unique dish, so we decided to go out to a restaurant that we all went out to eat with each other at on the first night of the program. So as the plans changed the stress was lifted and we made a reservation for 13. We all had a great time and although I wasn’t with my family I made sure to FaceTime them and have a great time with people that I only have a few weeks left with.
Until next time,
Hunter Boshell
